Paper Pinwheel Wind-Power Tester

Build a simple, adjustable wind turbine model from paper and a wooden skewer to investigate how blade shape, size, and angle affect how fast a rotor spins in a steady breeze from a box fan or outdoor wind. This hands-on activity is safe for classroom or home, uses everyday materials, and teaches elementary principles of aerodynamics, energy transfer, and experimental design. Students will measure rotations per minute (RPM) using a phone camera or stopwatch and test one variable at a time, learning to record data, draw conclusions, and improve designs.
